Our Midwifery Integrated Home Visitation (MI-Home) Program, which provides family planning, prenatal, postpartum, and lactation care in people’s homes, shelters, safe spaces, and via telemedicine has received an excellent evaluation from AlohaCare, the funding institution. MI-Home leaders Le’a Minton and Dr. Men-Jean Lee were praised for achieving outstanding results and outcomes in developing an unparalleled model of care for high risk pregnant women and their newborns, leading to reduced maternal and infant morbidity and mortality rates, reducing the disparities of maternal and infant morbidity and mortality seen across ethnicities, and reducing the high medical costs for these high-need individuals in the State of Hawaiʻi.
